The recommendations I make here are not based on mere hearsay, although I am offering you a matter of personal opinion, I have based the recommendations on my research. All the restaurants listed here in Toronto have been chosen according to the criteria of the real typicality of the food offered and the desire to save the genuine features of the specific cuisine. If you are in for the hot spices of Thai foods the easygoing Italian pasta or even a simple Sushi of Japan then my chosen collection will give you just the real deal.

1. Banjara Indian Cuisine

Being an Indian, I can confidently say that this restaurant has the taste that I used to enjoy in India, and it reminds me of old memories, so this gem Banjara Indian Cuisine, on Bloor Street, serves a rich and diversified menu that represents the essence of Indian cooking. Banjara is a must-visit for anybody wishing to sample India’s robust flavours, from spicy curries to fragrant biryanis.

  • Must-Try Dish: Lamb Vindaloo – A spicy and tangy dish that’s sure to satisfy your craving for bold flavours. Which anyone must try if they really want to explore the Indian spices.

 

2. Gusto 101

Say cheese not just capturing the moments but also while eating Italian cuisine with a modern Italian interior and mesmerizing vibe which you can’t forget Gusto is located at Portland Street, Gusto 101 has a more modern fusion of the beloved cuisine, where you can have delightful classic Italian dishes. The features of the menu make this place perfect for both, an informal dinner and celebrations.

  • Must-Try Dish: Truffle Mafaldine – A delicious Italian pasta that is prepared and cooked in truffle cream sauce and the hard Italian cheese known as Parmesan cheese. It is a richness that will impress and will say to visit this beau one more time.

 

3. Kinton Ramen

An Anime guy like me who loves Japanese food for a taste and presentation will definitely be headed to Kinton Ramen on Baldwin Street. Known for its flavorful broths and perfectly cooked noodles, Kinton Ramen is a favourite among Toronto’s ramen enthusiasts.

  • Must-Try Dish: Spicy Garlic Pork Ramen – For something heartier with a spicy aftertaste; the ramen soup. Containing a thick pork based soup, toothsome noodles and a scorching garlic sauce, it is a meal that is meant to provide warmth. Yes, it is among my favourite dishes that reminds one of wow while eating the dish.

 

4. Seven Lives Tacos y Mariscos

Hola! Fun Fact: There is a day to celebrate the TACO XD

If you find yourself in Kensington Market, Seven Lives Tacos y Mariscos is the go-to spot for authentic Mexican street food. From their famous fish tacos to their refreshing ceviche, Seven Lives offers a taste of Mexico in every bite.

  • Must-Try Dish: Gobernador Taco – A delicious taco filled with smoked tuna, shrimp, and cheese. It’s a unique and flavorful twist on the classic taco. After enjoying this wonderful food, simply say
    delicioso.

 

5. Pai Northern Thai Kitchen

When life gives you lemons, just  say Phuket and make Pad Thai But, who would be willing to make that much effort for an authentic Thai restaurant when Pai ‘Northern Thai Kitchen’ on Duncan Street beckons with so much to offer? Lively and energetic, the dishes they serve will undoubtedly transport you to Bangkok’s back alleys.

  • Must-Try Dish:  Pad Thai. This classic Thai dish consists of stir-cooked rice noodles with shrimp or chicken, tofu, peanut crumbs, and a sour tamarind sauce. If I had to make a choice, I would stick with shrimp. Every grain is intended to burst on your taste receptors, announcing the advertiser’s vision of Thai cuisine – sweet, sour, salty, and spicy. This appealing recipe will bring the flavour of Thai street cuisine to your table, and you will undoubtedly want more.
     

6. Maha’s Egyptian Brunch

Habibi you don’t have to leave Toronto for an authentic Mediterranean dining experience, Maha’s Egyptian Brunch on Greenwood Avenue is a must-visit. This cosy, family-run restaurant brings the rich flavors of Egypt to Toronto with its warm hospitality and delicious dishes.

  • Must-Try Dish: Chicken Shawarma –  When it comes to the street foods, Shawarma especially Chicken Shawarma served at Maha’s is remarkable. The chicken is prepared with flavored marinade, grilled to appeal, and it comes with pita bread which also known as Kubus, pickles, and garlic tahini sauce. Every bite is a jewel of Mediterranean flavors, salty, sour, and spicy at the same time it will leave you wanting for more.
